The town and region of Chizu in Japan are famous for the forests that produce cedar-wood that is highly valued because of the close grain of the trees – in the higher-altitude, cooler areas of Japan, the trees grow more slowly, so their growth rings are closer together. It is this fine-grained Chizu Sugi that Sailor use to make these wonderful member of the precious wood range.The accompaniments of the Sailor Precious Wood Cedarwood Chizu Sugi fountain pen are gold-plated to complement the wood of the cap and barrel in an elegantly understated fashion. The pen is finished with a black lacquer section that makes the grip effortless and untiring even in extended periods of writing. The pen is delivered with Sailor’s beautiful 14 carat gold nib, beautifully engraved and marked with their anchor trade-mark.
