Visconti Silver Dust Fountain Pen
The Visconti Silver Dust fountain pen is another fine example of Visconti’s excellence in the production of demonstrator pens. The cap, section and filler of this glorious new limited edition are in black, but the real beauty is in the barrel. This demonstrator’s reservoir is made of transparent acryloid, but twisting through it are swirls of finely-powdered sterling silver dust.
Visconti say that this dusting of silver represents cosmic dust (or star dust) that drifts through the vacuum of space, and which scientists say is to reach earth from the sun in March in 2018 – hence Visconti’s decision to produce this pen.
The body of the Visconti Opera Master Silver Dust fountain pen is another of the manufacturer’s favourite marks, as (like the Opera and Opera Metals we admired in the past) it features the “squared circle” cross-section that makes this luxury pen so comfortable to hold.
The Opera Master Silver Dust uses Visconti’s double-reservoir power filling system – something that becomes fascinatingly apparent in a demonstrator pen of such beauty.
The pen is made in Italy, so it of course has the trademark Ponte Vecchio arched clip that is another of Visconti’s craft marks. It is also has the removable cap finial to allow for Visconti’s “My Pen” system. It is dispatched in a splendid presentation box with the Visconti booklet, lifetime guarantee, and limited edition certificate.
The Opera Master Silver Dust fountain pen is produced with either Visconti’s excellent tubular “Smartouch” nib, with snorkel, which is available in Fine, Medium, and Broad. Extra-Fine and Stub nibs are also available, but at extra cost, or the 23ct Palladium “Dreamtouch” nib – another £254 or £282.
This is a special edition pen – only 600 will be produced..
