Visconti Divina Elegance

The Visconti Divina Elegance range is one of distinctive luxury writing implements. The ‘Divina’ name comes from the ‘Divine Ratio’ or ‘Golden Number’ (1.618), an irrational number that has been intriguing mathematicians, biologists, architects and sculptors – and now pen designers and artisans – for 2,500 years.

The Divina Elegance wrting implements are made of a bi-coloured mixture of acyrlic resin – so each pattern in the base material is unique – overlayed with spirals of silver (for the Imperial Blue) or bronze (for the Green) that wrap around the pen in a manner that is reminiscent of the organic. These five spirals follow a curve that is governed by the golden number and, in the case of the Visconti Divina Elegance fountain pen and the Visconti Divina Elegance rollerball, the length of the pen body is 1.618 times that of the cap. These latter pens use the unique Visconti ‘hook and latch’ system to hold the lids secure without a vast amount of screwing and unscrewing, a system which also, incidentally, ensures that the spirals are in perfect alignment when the pen is closed.

The Visconti Divina Elegance ballpoint pen and Visconti Divina Elegance pencil are less weighty than the fountain pen or the rollerball, but are still luxury writing implements to that are good to look at and good to hold. They have twist-and-release-action tops to extend the tips.

In common with all Visconti pens, these luxury writing instuments have the Ponte Vecchio arched clip that is a sure sign that they’re made in Italy, but it is also true to say that the Divina Elegance range has the class, luxury and style that are characteristic of the artisans of Florence.

The Visconti Divina Elegance range includes an oversize fountain pen, medium fountain pen, rollerball, ballpont pen and mechanical pencil.
