Sailor PG “Fountain Pen of the Seas” Eleuthera Island

Sailor has partnered with the Satellite crayon project in order to create a series of limited edition fountain pens that are inspired by the colours of the earths oceans, as seen from space. Each pen has been colour matched to a specific location with the GPS location engraved on one side of the barrel and the logo for the Satellite crayon project engraved on the other.

For this series sailor have produced their classic Professional Gear fountain pen in two colours, each with a Rhodium plated trim and featuring sailors anchor logo engraved on the top of the cap, as well as one of sailors world renowned 21ct gold large size nibs and exclusive to this special series, a converter with a twist knob that matches the colour of the pen.

Eleuthera Island has been picked from the seawater around the western coastline of Eleuthera island in the Bahamas it’s bright blue turquoise tone capturing the iconic coastline of the region perfectly.  The Cap and barrel ends are an original colour created to represent the oolite found in these waters, which is the mineral that helps to create the distinctive colours and patterns that the water of the region is known for.

The Satellite crayon project donates a portion of its proceeds towards charitable causes, including supporting disaster relief efforts, in addition to this contribution from the Satellite crayon project sailor is also donating a percentage of profits from the sales of these limited edition pens to support the Hiroshima Prefectures GSHIP imitative, to clean up pollution within the Seto inland sea.

Syvash is a region of shallow tidal wetlands on the bank of the Sea of Azov in Ukraine, even at their deepest points these wetlands are only 3m deep allowing for little water circulation, this has created a salt rich environment in which algae thrive, producing large amounts of beta-carotene which gives the water its rich orange colour. the cap and barrel ends are an original colour created in the image of the Pink salt found nearby in the Crimean peninsula.
