This cosmic fusion combines the artistry of traditional Japanese Maki-e with the precise craftsmanship and expertise Pelikan have developed over 185 years.

Envisioned as a poetic tribute to the sea of stardust that scatters across the night Sky, The Pelikan Raden Stardust, or “Hoshikuzu”, has been brought to life by by renowned Make-e master Yamazaki Mushi and his collective “Hoshu-Kai”. completed in Kaga City, the pen has been crafted using the ancient Raden technique. First applying a layer of deep black Urushi, giving the pen it’s unique depth, this is then carefully layered with three types of crushed abalone shell, meticulously arranged into each of the iridescent lines that run the length of the pen, shimmering in hues of blue, green, silver and violet, as they capture just a little bit of the essence of that distant stardust. Finally the pen is encased in layers of clear lacquer, carefully and meticulously refined and polished to ensure a lustrous glassy finish.

The pen is completed with 24k gold plated accents, including Pelikans Iconic beak clip and double cap bands, the 18k gold medium nib has been expertly tuned to offer an unparalleled writing performance.

Presented in a paulownia wood box every detail of the pen and its presentation has been carefully considered to create something that exudes timeless luxury and reflects the reverence behind its creation, created in extremly limited numbers, each pen has been individually signed by the artist who made it.
