Visconti Homo Sapiens Bronze Ballpoint Pen, this Steel Age pen is manufactured from volcanic lava. This lava is taken from Mount Etna, in Sicily, which may be the most continuously active volcano in the world.

Though it’s not exactly on Visconti’s doorstep, they take the solidified lava from Etna, grind it, and mix with modern resins to produce an extremely tough material from which these extraordinary pens are made. They have a soft, warm feel in the hand, and because the material is slightly hygroscopic, it also feels very dry.
