Firstly, the looks. All of the metal appointments and the nib look as if they have been tempered, the colours ranging from straw through purple to blue. It really is lovely!
If you’re not familiar with the VAC700 R, it is an oversize plunger filler. To fill the pen withdraw the plunger, pop the nib into in the ink, creating a vacuum behind the piston head. Nature abhors this, so as soon as it hits a valve at the bottom of its travel, the ink rushes in. You’ll get at least 1.5ml of ink – over 2ml of the VAC 20A ink pot is used.
