Stipula Etruria Val Tiberina Nero Di Catenaia Fountain Pen

The Etruria is Stipula’s flagship design, featuring an oversized ogive barrel in a number of interesting materials. The Val Tiberina range was created as a tribute to the valley which channels the river Tiber through Etruria and on to Rome itself.

This particular edition is a nod to a nearby mountain range known as Catenaia, and of course is spelled very similarly to Sicily’s Catania, famed for its deep black lava – but which another pen brand has a prior claim to, so moving swiftly on… Stipula describes this matte finish as a ‘non-colour’ – make of that what you will – and the whole ensemble is dressed in ruthenium for a gunmetal finish to the cap and clip.

Equipped with a Medium steel nib, we think it looks the business – and perhaps more than most of the Etruria collection, could even be sneaked into a board meeting without raising too many eyebrows.
