An evolution of Scribo’s Hane, and Hane Kuro fountain pens, The Piuma Hane Toruko is a celebration of Light, Colour, and the quiet precision and passion that’s needed for the craft of Urushi Lacquering.
A brilliant bright turquoise enrobed by a soft warm brown, each layer of the pen has been carefully applied, Polymerised, and then hand polished, over time as the pen takes form each layer of Urushi becomes a lens, light passing through each layer until it reaches the turquoise core and returns to the eye transformed, charged with new depth. Over time the Lacquer evolves becoming more clear and allowing the underlying colour to emerge with new clarity, each piece becoming a visual diary of it’s own personal story.
When the perfect surface is achieved, the artist hand signs the piece, a katakana mark that seals the collaboration between The Urushi master and Scribo’s vision, asserting every detail as perfect before the pen can return to Bologna Italy to receive it’s beating heart, The nib. Scribo’s world class gold nibs are available in either 14ct or 21ct gold, velvety smooth and perfectly fluid, Scribo envisions the experience of writing as a connection with the soul, and creates their nibs with a reverence that’s well earned.
