The LA DOTTA Yamanaka Onsen Limited Edition Urushi Lacquered fountain pen was inspired by Yamanaka Onsen, a town in the  mountainous corner of the Ishikawa Prefecture on Japan’s East coast.  In this peaceful area where you can recover from long walks in the wooded hills by bathing in the   hot springs, the tradition of wood carving and precious Urushi lacquering has been handed down for centuries, a patient and delicate ritual.

This limited edition fountain pen is covered in the refined Urushi Tamenuri lacquer in a warm wood-brown colour tone, fading to a light beige. This is the first Scribo piston filler to feature Urushi lacquer. Urushi master Shimizu-san has dressed these handcrafted Italian products masterfully, each piece the result of months of slow and precise work.

Only 123 pieces of this model have been made. The first two Urushi lacquered pens from Scribo, the Piuma Hane and Piuma Hane Kuro sold out very quickly, so acting fast is recommended if you don’t want to miss out on the La Dotta Yamanaka Onsen. Scribo’s marvellous nibs, 14K Flex or 18K gold nibs have a yellow gold trim to compliment the warm brown tones.
