The name of Veilio has been created as a portmanteau of ‘veil’ and ‘ilo’ which is the Japanese word for colour, inspired by the way the pen combines bright eye-catching colours with fluid marble like patterns that run throughout the body of the pen, giving the affect of a translucent veil which covers the ‘face’ of the fountain pen, creating an essence of depth and mystery to the design.

For Sailors 4th series of Veilio pens, the design has been enhanced by including a pigment mixed into the translucent body of the pen. This has been used to achieve the deep and rich purple coloured body, slightly transparent to allow it to showcase the exquisite craftsmanship within the pen. the flowing veil like pattern accentuates the two dark purple end caps on either side of the pen, which is then presented with a bright silver trim that perfectly highlights the rich dark tones of the pen. it comes with one of Sailors excellent 21ct gold nibs available in a range of sizes from extra fine to broad.
