Usual high quality Sailor ink - perfect colour for me.

Gorgeous ink, I love Grey's.
23-Mar-2017 Product:

A gorgeous burgundy and very reminiscent of the old Sailor Jentle Grenade. Unbelievable shading and as is usual for Sailor inks, it is lubricated and flows "wet". Deep in a fine nib and a lot of variety and fun in a broad gold nib.

This colour is just fantastic, even with just the teal colour it would be stunning but the red sheen on occasion just makes it outstanding.

I'm a huge fan of Sailor pens and inks - the Jentle inks flow wonderfully, have great shading qualities and many have an interesting "shimmer" in wet writing pens on the right kind of paper (typically paper where the ink takes time to dry e.g. Midori, Rhodia). In 1911, Mr. Kyugoro Sakata, an Engineer from Hiroshima, Japan, was introduced to the fountain pen when his long-time friend, a British sailor, demonstrated one to him. Mr. Sakata was so intrigued by the design and function of the pen he decided to begin a company to craft the finest writing instruments in the world. In honor of his British friend, he chose to name the company Sailor Pens.

He was determined to produce the most elegant and sophisticated writing instruments in the world. His passion was to make writing an alluring adventure, to expand Sailor's market to the world, as a sailor explores the world.

The Sailor Pen Company has proudly maintained this heritage of quality and technical perfection over the years. Still today, it offers the customer a unique variety of writing instruments that enhance the pleasures of the writing experience.

The attention to nib design and production is second to none. Master nib designer Nobuyoshi Nagahara has oversaw this for the past 60 years, and has designed many unique and special nibs, such as the Cross Emperor. He has been succeeded by his son, Yukio Nagahara.
We are delighted to be able to offer our customers Sailor Pens. You will be buying a fine piece of Japanese engineering and craftsmanship, with a superb fountain pen nib, whether you choose a budget pen or one of their magnificent Maki-e decorated pens (literally "Sprinkled Picture).

We have examples of all the main lines, but do not keep all pens in stock. We will endeavour to supply as quickly as possible, and will liaise with you over this. Basic pens should be readily available, more exotic nibs may take six weeks, and nibs and pens made to order will take up to three months. Get in touch for more information.
