Sailor Endangered Species – Giant Panda Fountain Pen

The Sailor Endangered Species Mammals fountain pen family are made in three versions, each of which are limited to only 88 each, world-wide.

This resin-based limited edition series of pens by Master Maki-E Artist Koshyu Nishihara was commissioned to acknowledge three different species that are under threat of extinction either through poaching or destruction of their native environment. The animals depicted on the three Sailor Endangered Species Mammals fountain pens are the Bengal Tiger, the Giant Panda, and the African Elephant.

This fountain pen features Giant Pandas, depicted in groves of bamboo. Although we usually recommend filling luxury writing instruments like this Sailor pen with the maker’s own ink, we think it would be a lovely idea to fill this pen with Pilot’s Iroshizuku Chiku Rin (bamboo grove) ink!

The Sailor Endangered Species Mammals Limited Edition Fountain Pen range is based on the classic Sailor 1911, and all of the luxury writing instruments are fitted with the gorgeous Sailor 21 carat gold nib in Fine, Medium and Broad. The pens are also supplied with the wonderfully-efficient Sailor converter for those who prefer bottled ink to cartridges.
