Sailors 1911 Large is one of the Luxury stationary manufacturers most iconic pens, first launched in 2011 as a celebration of the 100th anniversary of Sailors founding, since then the 1911 has become a classic in its own right. With a design inspired by iconic cigar shaped fountain pens it is built to the excellent standards of quality and finish that Sailor are well known for. this limited edition collection of pens from Sailor each feature a stunning Yuubi Maki-e design which has been printed onto the body and cap of the pen, before being hand finished to achieve the iconic look that Maki-e is known for the metal trim of the pen has been completed in a bright rhodium plating and one of sailors world renowned 14ct gold nibs.

Sailor have created their Ninja Series to celebrate the history of Japan’s most mysterious and iconic figures. and with the second series of ninja pens they’ve decided to focus on the weapons that were utilised by the ninja throughout their history. The Shachihoko while not a weapon is an important piece of Japanese folklore intrinsically linked with the practices of ninja. A mythical fish with the head of a tiger, it is said to be a protective spirit that can call down rains to prevent fires and is often seen depicted in sculpture on the roofs of Japanese shrines and castles where ninja would occupy.
