Made from ebonite and layered with Urushi lacquer to create a stunning looking pen that combines both modern design with traditional handcrafted techniques. The Pilot Custom Urushi is a very big pen. It features Pilot’s largest size 30 nib in 18 carat gold- bigger than a European No 8, and beautifully behaved.
The rich blue colour is achieved via Urushi lacquering, a technique that has been practiced for at least 7000 years. Urushi artisans slowly build up layer after layer of lacquer to create an ultra smooth and shiny finish.
