Onoto Magna Classic Black & Silver Fittings with Chasing

The Onoto Magna Classic Black & Silver Fittings with Chasing is an extremely stylish pen from Onoto’s hallmark Magna Range. These pens are based on the orginal Onoto Magna, first produced as a “self filling” safety fountain pen. That was a plunger-filler, but the Magna Classic range are now made as cartridge / converter pens to suit modern tastes. This luxury writing instrument is molded in the same deep-lustre black acylic resin as the original pen, with the same sterling silver accompaniments.

The body and cap of this version of the Onoto Magna Classic Black are beautifully and subtly decorated with barrel-turned chasing that make the pleasure to look at, and a delight to hold, with a small plain panel to show the trademark “ONOTO the PEN” and “,B>Made in England” engravings. The cap is trimmed with sterling silver fittings, including the signature Onoto sterling silver clip with their logo and distinctive chevrons pattern, the triple cap bands that are a feature of the modern Magna Classic and, of course, the cap finial button that features Onoto’s cipher logo. The barrel of the pen is finished with a plain button, also in sterling silver.

The Onoto Magna Classic Black with silver fittings and chasing is produced with Fine, Medium and Broad nibs as standard. These are available either in stainless steel, bi-coloured with gold plating, or in 18 carat gold. The pen can also be fitted with a stub nib that Onoto will grind to your personal specification. If you choose the ‘nib modification’ option (on the right), we will contact you to determine exactly how you would like the nib shaped.

As produced, the standard Onoto Magna Classic Black fountain pen & silver fittings with chasing weighs in at a comfortable 25 grams, but if you so with, Onoto can increase this to 32 grams for a small additional charge.

Onoto can also supply you with a rollerball conversion kit in acrylic resin and silver. This is in addition to the fountain pen, allowing to change your pen to a rollerball simply by unscrewing one tip from the barrel (as you would to replace the cartridge) and screwing in the other. NOTE that this option is not compatible with the extra weight option, so please do not choose both in the options list.
