LAMY 2000 blue Bauhaus:

The LAMY 2000 blue Bauhaus Limited Edition celebrates the Centenary of the Bauhaus movement. 1,919 of these pens will be made marking the year of the opening of the Bauhaus.

The pen is made of blue brushed matte polycarbonate, with a brushed steel section and mirror polished spring clip.  It is a piston filler, using only bottled ink.  The LAMY 2000 blue Bauhaus Limited Edition will have platinum plated 14 ct gold nib, all Extra Fine.

THE LAMY 2000 BAUHAUS BLUE LIMITED EDITION WILL BE AVAILABLE IN EARLY SEPTEMBER.  WE ARE ACCEPTING PRE-ORDERS.

It comes with a premium notebook with 240 pages of 120gsm paper from the Gmund Bauhaus Dessau collection.  The colour co-ordinated hard cover’s design is inspired by Bauhaus graphics by Paul Klee, who taught at the Bauhaus. There are two ribbon bookmarks, a pen loop and elastic closure.

The Lamy 2000 Bauhaus Blue is a new interpretation an iconic fountain pen design that, in spite of celebrating its own 50th anniversary three years ago, remains stunningly modern. It resulted from a collaboration between Dr Manfred Lamy, son of the company’s founder, and Gerd A. Muller.  Mr Lamy wanted to establish a unique character for the company.  Muller, already a noted designer for Braun consumer electrical products, agreed to design a fountain pen in the Bauhaus tradition: functional, simple and with attention the materials used in its manufacture.  It was a brave design and remains a unique and distinctive fountain pen.

The 2000 was successfully launched in 1966 and has been in production ever since – is this the longest production run of any fountain pen?
