Visconti Rembrandt Fountain Pen

For 2018, Visconti are producing three beautiful new versions of this pen, under the slightly changed name of Visconti Master of Arts Rembrandt fountain pen. These three new variants are actually rather different from previous Rembrandts inasmuch as they are made from different-coloured but complimentary resins, rather than just being different shades of the same colour.

The three versions of the Visconti Rembrandt fountain pen are Dark Forest, a dark green pen with turquiose and purple highlights, Eclipse, a mixture of purple and rust red, and Twilight which is a dark purple with lighter purple and magento. These descriptions of the colour schemes do not do them justice – the pictures are much better!

Also new for 2018 s the Visconti Rembrant Rosa fountain pen, in an attractive shade of pink (rosa) with platinum accompaniments

Available in a variety of colours, the Visconti Rembrandt Fountain Pen is made from variegated resin and features platinum- or ruthenium-plated trim, according to the resin colours in the body and cap. Visconti have also added purple, grey and ‘back to black’ colours for the Rembrandt, which highlights the importance of colour in this classic line of fountain pens.

The colours used by the Italian pen manufacturer in this range emulate Rembrandt’s very own painting technique, known as ‘chiaroscuro’. This results in a writing instrument that will stand out proudly among any pen collection. It’s fair to assume that Rembrandt himself would have loved these pens, and particularly the choices of colour.

Note that, whichever colour scheme is chosen, the process of adding the resins to the mold mean that no two of these pens (or the pencils) are alike.

As entry level pens go, this is a fantastic option from the Visconti range. The vibrant variegated resin encapsulates the spirit of the artist after whom the pen is named, while the level of finish offers an opulence not usually found in a writing instrument at this price range. The Visconti Rembrandt Fountain Pen really should be in your collection, and at this price, it’s hard to resist – particularly when you consider the brilliance of the design and inclusion of a very high quality steel nib.

The Visconti Rembrandt Fountain Pen comes with a cartridge converter and is available with Fine Medium or Broad nibs, and the pen is available in following colours: Grey, Purple, Black, White, Red and Blue. For those who like so-called “Stealth” pens, we do have a very few of the Back-to-Black and Khaki Green versions od the Visconti Rembrandt fountain pen, which Visconti have dropped in favour of newer colours.

Write Here will have the three new variants available for sale online in early March, so please feel free to pre-order now.
