Visconti Homo Sapiens Bronze Mechanical Pencil

The Visconti Homo Sapiens Bronze Mechanical Pencil is manufactured from lavastone from Mount Etna, probably the world’s most famous active volcano on the Island of Sicily. Almost certainly spewed out of the ground during Etna’s last eruption, the lavastone is ground and mixed with modern resins to produce a tough near indestructible material from which these extraordinary writing instruments are made.

They have a soft, warm feel to the hand and because the material is slightly hygroscopic, so it also feels very dry to the touch.

Complemented with bronze appointments and, of course, Visconti’s signature Ponte Vecchio

Arched bridge pocket clip, with the Visconti logo engraved on the side.

The Homo Sapiens, made with lava from Mount Etna, is one of the great pens of the early 21st century. It is a plunger filler – updating a system first developed in the 1920’s. Safe lock closing system – ingenious, reliable and positive 23 carat palladium nibs for their top end pens is unique; they deliver a unique writing experience. Owning a Visconti pen will be a constant source of pleasure, and for those of us who love pens always provide interest, and sometimes amazement!
