The Visconti Divina Elegance Black oversized fountain pen is perhaps one of the most imposing of the Divina family – it is a big pen, with a weight and heft in the hand that gives the certain impression of an imposing writing instrument. As with all the Divina family, this fountain pen is based around the Golden Number, or Divine Fraction (hence Divina); this was initially a ratio (equal to 1.618) between the sides of a rectangle, but can be applied to the two parts of a whole. Mathematicians have been fascinated by this ratio for around 2,500 years, and architects since the Ancient Greeks have known that buildings and rooms that encompass the Golden Number look and feel “right”.
