Namiki Pens

Namiki pens have been made since 1925. They are leaders in the production of urushi laquer and maki-e pens.

The production production of Maki-e and Urushi pens by Namiki resulted for a collaboration between British luxury good company Dunhill and Ryosuke Namiki, founder of the company.  They supplied Dunhill with high quality ebonite pens, but the finish of the ebonite tended to dull with age.  Mr Namiki turned to Japanese lacquerware techniques to provide and enduringly beautiful finish to his pens, which continues to this day.
