Inspiration takes many forms, yet a tiny, delicate pencil drawing by master craftsman Henry Simpole has become the foundation for one of the most beautiful writing instruments ever created by Onoto.

Onoto Overlay No 1 Pen is stylish, elegant and tactile. This new Onoto fountain pen follows a proud tradition of making filigree overlays dating back to the 1910s.
Staying true to that period and combining design influences from Art Nouveau, this simple sketch has turned into a masterpiece of pen design – with a hidden secret! Look closely at Henry’s initial sketch on the left and you’ll see the letters ‘O-N-O-T-O’ embedded into the design, starting from the top left. Onoto Overlay No 1 Pen

Limited Edition
Produced in strictly limited editions of 500 in Sterling Silver, 250 in vermeil ( 23ct gold-plated sterling silver) and only 50 in gold (made to order). Each pen is engraved with the edition number by the hallmarks.
